Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a fantastic Italian restaurant with a long-standing tradition in the city of Fab Essen. The service is excellent, and the cocktail bar is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, like many other restaurants, they faced challenges in 2021 and are now in a difficult situation. It's such a shame, especially after the closure of 41South, which was likely shut down so the property owners can construct condos. However, there are rumors that this restaurant might be able to relocate and find a new space. I truly hope that happens.
The restaurant offers a lovely atmosphere. While it's not the cheapest option, the cuisine is outstanding. The Gazpacho was decent—well balanced and definitely worth trying. The steamed mussels were expertly prepared, with a delightful wine sauce. The Melanzana Parmigiana was accompanied by some incredible sautéed carrots and zucchini, which stole the spotlight from the eggplant, the main attraction of the dish. Sometimes, happy surprises make the experience even better. The crème brûlée was quite good as well. I recommend coming here to enjoy the charming terrace, especially if you can sit by the well.
In contrast, my previous visit was disappointing. The mushroom appetizer had a bitter flavor—likely because the Marsala wine wasn’t properly cooked or was of low quality. The flour was undercooked, and the sauce was excessively thick, giving the impression that it was rushed, even though it was a Friday night. The main dishes lacked flavor as well. The tortellini was served with a bland white sauce that seemed incomplete, as if they forgot to add any seasoning. The basic spaghetti was similarly uninspired and not what you’d expect at this price point. The fish dish featured tiny bay scallops that tasted frozen and had a rubbery texture. With prices ranging from $20 to $40 per plate, the quality of the food did not live up to the cost. Additionally, the experience was further marred when a party of six arrived with a poodle and took a seat right next to us. While I love dogs, I don’t think they belong in an upscale restaurant. It felt inconsiderate, and it was clear that the restaurant doesn’t prioritize the comfort of its patrons by allowing this.
My wife and I ordered to take her during a very busy weekend. they made an exception for us and filled out order. Boy, we're glad they made it! The food was so good. the mushrooms were embellished and beautifully cooked with tons of taste and this sauce made me wish more bread to suck it. The pasta dish we ordered was also very good. The sauce was tasteful and rich, a touch of spices, but not excessive, it was a well balanced dish. The staff was friendly and the take-out service was unforgettable. I imagine her din in service would be even more memorable. We will definitely go back!
Great service, great food and cocktails are tasty and not overly sweet. I would love to get the recipe for the homemade Bordeaux cherries.
