Contribuiți la feedbackMy wife and I had lunch in the restaurant esca in the bimbadgen estate. the name clearly means “place with a good view”. up on a hill, it has a great view of the environment beyond the mountain chains in the west. we were in many local wineries, but bimbadgen has the best prospect. the restaurant is located in the main wine house, with its high bell tower. a little reminds of a pale. as they pass through the beautiful heck and well and immerse in it, they are greeted by the collection of massive stainless steel weintüten and a wonderful view to the west through the far windows. the restaurant is on a side and has a terrace where we sat to enjoy the view. the maître d’hôtel was very pleasant and shows us on our table and explained the menu (see picture below). the costs depend on whether they have 3, 4 or 5 courses. all the elements in the menu are the same price (including desserts), so there is no limit to the combinations that they can have. they could have 4 of the same thing, 3 net, 4 desserts etc. a waiter brought us homemade bread with lemon myrtle butter and shiraz infused salt. it was disgusting. between us we had an earlylingssalat (so tasty), barramundi (Thai-style), duck, spanner crab meat with roasted crows (jum) and earlylingslamm. photos from each curs appear below. we have paired these dishes with bimbadgen weeps that were wonderful. a wonderful culinary experience. not to miss when they are in the hunter valley.
Amazing eating, with magnificent views over the valley and the best service we received all trip. interesting and really helpful staff to find in restaurants is difficult in these times definitiw, esca has well done and the pizza cafe down also.
This restaurant begins with the beautiful environment, in the weingut. Service staff were very friendly and helpful, and the selection and quality of the food was excellent
Only disappointed. I have never published a bad review. booked 2 months ago and so underwhelmed. personal very pleasant, but seemed distracted and possibly a problem with the kitchen. we went for the signature experience, sorry not great. trout had bones, red spot whiting was. so hard, lame too salty. we had to hang for a glass of wine. so disappointed.
Wow, the team at ESCA have stepped it up a notch to say the least. This is a must visit restaurant in the Hunter Valley. We have been members of Bimbadgen for over a decade and been to ESCA a number of occasions over that...time. Today we were totally in awe of Mark and his team. Four of us selected the Three Course option for lunch. Not one of us had the same dish until the third dish. Each of us shared with each other to compare who had the best dish. no one was disappointed. Deep, rich and complex flavours, plenty of variety and super friendly staff.
