Le Poitevin - Poitiers

Great little restaurant. We tried the foie gras and it was delicious. We followed this with beef steak. It was amazingly tender and nicely presented. Desert was a chocolate fondant. Equally delicious. They have a good wine list.

We, a bigger group, visited on a Thursday night. The place was half empty. The food was excellent. The price quality ratio was also good - especially if you choose a set menu. However, we found the staff a bit impersonal and too formal - also throwing the forks and knifes to you.

Home cooked food - excellent quality - beautifully presented and so tasty! Look forward to coming back to Poitiers again in order to eat well again. Professional efficient service - so helpful accommodating my particular dietary requirements. Very good value - tables spaced well to allow peaceful dining with several smaller sections giving privacy. Menu changes every day allowing repeat visits during a week!.

If you want a classic French meal in Poitiers this is one of the best options. The ambience is calm, the service is excellent and the food is memorable. You will leave relaxed with a full stomach feeling at peace with the world!

A family outing. Ordered the fixed price menu 29 Euro with cheapest Sauvignon blanc available. Total 7 courses including amuse bouche etc. really great meal and great value for what we got.
