Guacamole, México

This is the lunch time restaurant in the Riu Palace Mexico, where we stayed from the 30th September to 14th October. The restaurant is open daily from 12.00 until 16.00, from then up to 17.00 it remains open for snacks. It does reopen at 18.30 to 21.30 as the Steakhouse Restaurant. The meals here are buffet style where guests can help themselves to a variety of styles of food. There are chefs on hand, at a number of cooking stations to freshly prepare food. This ranged from grilled meat, chicken fish, pasta with sauces, pizzas, burgers chips and hot dogs. There were other hot dishes, cold meats, cheese and salad stuff on offer as well as Mexican specialities. We did here lunch here a number of times, the soups were rather good. The desserts were good especially the cookies. We did take a few cookies with us to the El Palmera bar, to have with our coffees after lunch. The concept was that guest would come to the restaurant, find a seat and wait for drinks order to be taken. It did not always work out like that causing chaos and confusion especially at peak times.
