Roxanne's Cafe - Platte City

A great down-home dining experience. Always good food service in a very warm, friendly atmosphere. You won't leave hungry. We had not been there in about a year but stopped in again while traveling. Some remodeling was in process, but accommodations had been made to continue serving in a safe, smaller, second room, with no lessening of food or service quality!

Meatloaf, tenderloin and hamburger enjoyed tonight by our family. Cozy cafe.

To begin when you are looking for a great breakfast place, I would say that this is a definitely good breakfast place. Today was our second trip to lunch and it will be our last trip there again and again. Not even for the good breakfast. If you decide, do NOT order the meat leaf because it is not meat leaflets. It is a bunch of crushed meat with gravity on it, very remembered by canned dog food. The potatoes were just as good as the Gravy. The green beans had no taste and salt and pepper to put on them, did little to fix this. My husband ate more than me, just because he was very hungry. I forced myself to eat just under half of it because I hate wasting such money. We finally took the rest of the food home for our dog. I should have remembered that we were there before lunch and were also disappointed last time.

Really good food for really reasonable prices. Was not impressed by the fish, but were here many times and never unhappy. Breakfast is really good and it is served all day. Very friendly staff.

I had breakfast cookies and Gravy, Hash Browns, Speck) and friend had pot roasts. Place was basically empty. The waiter who took orders and served us spoke very loud for some reason. My meal was barely warm enough to eat. The friend had to return his heater. Potatoes were barely warm and barely hot. My meal was very fat. Hash Browns and Speck seemed to have been remnants that had been fried. Biscuits and engraving were fair, but not really hot and not quite enough engraving. Service was fair, but considering the few customers in place, was really minimal. We both agreed that the place is only moderate. The staff was minimally attentive. Maybe there was only one "off "day based on other reviews here. I'd never go back. Recommend a few blocks down the road to the cracker barrel.
