Castaneda's Mexican Resturant

I attended a family birthday party, and I must say, my meal was delicious! My great-grandchildren enjoyed their food as well and finished everything on their plates. Food: 5/5

I came in hoping for some traditional tamales and some spicy Mexican salsa, but that’s not what I got! The salsa was cold and lacking spice, and the tamales were soggy. Very disappointing! Food rating: 1/5.

The food and service were great! The chips and salsas are the best around. I have passed by this restaurant for a few years and can kick myself for not stopping earlier! You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this family-friendly restaurantFood: 5/5

Figured we would give it a try. Did not want to drive into Magnolia around rush hour on Friday, so we went the other direction into Plantersville. If you blink you will miss this place... Small building right off the road next to a tire shop. Greeted quickly and seated. Seems the place was clean and the service was welcoming, and warm. The owner asked us a couple times how things were going. Was nice that he was checking in. Was surprised about the margarita, one large one and I was feeling it. I had them throw jalapenos in it to give it spice... Was really good. Food was pretty good. I had the Plantersville special, and the wife a couple tacos. The crunchy tacos looked home made and we're good. The meat really didn't have any flavor in the tacos... But the fajita meat in mine that came with the Plantersville special was cooked and seasoned very well. We will be back to try other things... And another margarita! One thing to note... Prices do seem a bit high for what it is, but that aside we are supporting a local business.
