Miss Alfred - PLANTAGENET

This restaurant serves the best burgers, made with freshly ground beef cooked to order. The fries are hand-cut and not frozen. If you're passing through Alfred, be sure to stop here for lunch or an early dinner. The restaurant has indoor seating as well as additional seating outside. Miss Alfred is one of the cleanest dining establishments around, offering a choice of dining in either the shade or sun, surrounded by flowers and the delicious aroma of freshly prepared food.

One of the many drive-by hot-dog stands in Alfred. All have basic cheap fare. If you are interested in unhealthy fare such as poutine dogs, burgers club sandwich etc. this is for you. Very typical for this area. Fries were not that great.

Amazing ambiance, carefully decorated, warm and friendly welcome. I went back twice! The food is good at a reasonable price and there are several types of poutine available. The portions are quite large and a poutine can easily be shared.

We drove the usual 51 kms to visit Miss Alfred. The owner gave us a complimentary sample of "cabbage roll soup"(believe it or not!). It was to die for. The fries that followed were fresh, crisp and delicious, as was the steamed hotdog. Once again, it was worth the drive and the experience. These people are the hardest working people I know and they are always polite and respectful.
