Umi Umi - Plano

This place used to serve the best Poke (first as DonDon, then as UmiUmi). Unfortunately, during our last visit, they had removed Poke from the menu. That might explain why it was so empty at lunchtime.

The food was fantastic! I chose to go local, and I'm so glad I did! I will definitely be returning. We ordered two appetizers, udon carbonara, two sushi rolls, and a tonkatsu. The chefs generously added some extras that were incredibly tasty! You absolutely have to try the fried rolls!

Charming little place with a friendly staff and excellent lunch specials. I can’t wait to return!

I expected this restaurant to be more casual, similar to DonDonPoke, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't. That said, we were warmly seated at our table, and our orders were taken promptly. Our server was very friendly, and my family received complimentary extra salad along with two additional small plates as a welcome gift for their recent opening. The volcano roll we ordered was served with small flames around it, which was a nice touch, and it was well-seasoned. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were delightful! Everything else we tried was also delicious. I would definitely return!

Fantastic food! If you're in search of genuine Japanese cuisine, this is the place to be. The food and service are excellent. As soon as you walk in, everyone greets you and is happy to explain the menu if you're not familiar with their offerings. The dishes are served promptly and are incredibly delicious. This is my second visit, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I will definitely return!
