Southern Recipes Grill - Plano

This was a wonderful experience. Their chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, greenbeans, and cornbread were all amazing. The staff is friendly too.

This is sort of a hidden gem if you're into Southern cooking. The staff is welcoming. The servings are plentiful and prices are reasonable. We ordered lunch and it was very good. I still want to try their breakfast!

RED FLAG TO ALL PARENTS NONE OF THE HIGH CHAIRS WORK. You walk in and you are greeted with the past. The place looks unchanged from say the 80s? The service is slow and the place is very dark. The food lacks flavor and some how they ruined red snapper which is normally a very good fish. The rice is seasoned but has no flavor. The tea is okay. Best thing I had was the corn bread. The breakfast is also okay. The hunt is still on for a regular spot.

I eat there frequently and find the food to be excellent and actually I think they offer far too many choices. They give good portions and its reasonably priced. To be honest, the reason I come is the ladies who wait on you. They are always friendly and helpful and make dining there a lot of fun. My only complaint would be that the owner needs to hire more people to work there. Invariably the ladies have to wait on 10 or more tables at one time and may be there by themselves. That's just not right and something the owner needs to fix before he loses them. I'll be back because I love the place.
