Cocina Azteca Grill - Placentia

I visited this restaurant to give it a try, and the molcajete was fantastic! I will definitely be coming back.

Let's begin with the food; I must say it was a wonderful experience. The dishes were incredibly delicious, almost like home-cooked meals. They offer a wide variety of Mexican dishes and specialties.

We were in search of a great Carne Asada, and overall, we had a pleasant experience. The tacos were excellent, served with beans and rice, while the Carne Asada plate was flavorful, although the meat was a bit tough. The Carne Asada Nachos, on the other hand, were fantastic; the meat used in both the nachos and tacos was tender and delicious. They offer both red and green sauce on the side, and we particularly enjoyed the red one. They also serve beer, which was a nice touch, especially with an ice-cold can of XX. The service was very friendly.

Visited this place because of Tik Tok and it was good! The server/cashier was very polite and generous and he explained to us the concept of the restaurant. He also let us know about the buffet they have on Saturdays and Sundays. Food was very delicious. We're definitely coming back for the buffet!

Went here for the chilaquiles plate. Chilaquiles is a Mexican dish for those who do not know, are fried corn tortilla chips and cooked in either red or green chile sauce topped with cheese and Mexican Crema (sour cream sauce). Usually served with over easy eggs or eggs scrambled and incorporated into the dish for breakfast. I went wth the red sauce. The texture was perfect. I like to have a little crunch when I take a bite. Sometimes the chips can get softened when cooked in the sauce too long. Not the case here though! These were cooked just right with that perfect crispy crunch in every bite. The over-easy eggs added a layer of flavor. With that warm soft centered broken yoke oozing and mixing into every delicious morsel. The refried beans were perfect. The rice was flavorful, light, fluffy and on point. The house salsa has fresh chunks of tasty avocado in it and is very delicious on the chips served when seated. See photos. My wife opted for the mashed potato filled hard shell tacos. She really enjoyed them as well. She's not a real big meat eater so this was a perfect choice. Bold flavors, authentic recipes, visually stunning colors on every plate, plus the great friendly staff makes this all worth it! Be sure to try their thick hand made tortillas too!
