The Terrace Room at the William Penn Hotel is elegant. Whether it is Sunday brunch, weekday lunch or dinner, it is the perfect place. The quality of the food and excellent service are in sync with the ambiance of the Room. Ask for a table serviced by Harry or Marty
My family of attended the New Years Eve Gala at this beautiful, historical hotel which was to include a meal and music/dancing. We arrived at the pm seating time and were turned away twice as the tables were still occupied by the diners from the earlier seating. At pm we sat ourselves at a cleared table and waited another minutes for a server to bring us a table setting. We were to be served an selection of appetizers from “roaming” servers; we received one tiny beef and one small fried cheese appetizer. Our waiter told us we would need to go to the open bar to retrieve any alcohol; wine had been pre-poured and set up in rows as though we were attending an office holiday party. After ordering courses from the menu, we received the salad course around and the main course at My daughter had ordered stuffed lobster which was both over-cooked and cold and had to be returned. By this time, we were anxious to leave and headed to our hotel before midnight. This was a VERY expensive evening, a pre-set ticket price for an extraordinarily poor service and dining experience
Very disappointing New Year's Eve dinner experience. Service was very slow and spotty. Food was not well prepared and was very overpriced for a oz glass of chardonnay. Room was too brightly lit and no table clothes. Despite limited menu and no table linens, service was slow waited before getting drink order. Had to go to bar and get second round because server was nowhere to be found
New Years Eve. Dinner Nice and festive atmosphere, live music playing in the hall of the Omni Hotel, decorations and all up to the expectations and worthy of the night. That is the reason why my wife and I decided to go there. Food, well as expected for the fixed menu per person, happy to see no buffet as read in some previous reviews for Christmas Day brunch and dinner. Nice touch of starting us with a glass of Champagne(sparkling wine) not bad. I didn’t like the lack of table cloth for such a place and event. Bread served along with butter was obviously frozen, quite ok when still warm but then showed it’s true colors (stale and lacking taste), I’m from Italy and must say bread is very very important to me. The choice of courses was ok, not outstanding but all right. Shrimp cocktail not well presented/plated, French onion soup was nice. Main courses were ok too.The sommelier made a good impression, had nice presence and seemed to know his stuff, can’t say the same for our waiter unfortunately who seemed nice, but unprepared and frazzled. When on the very beginning of the dinner we asked for sparkling water, the waiter removed the just poured still water glasses and brought over San Pellegrino bottle with two wet glasses that he proceeded to “shake dry” in front of us before pouring the sparkling water into them. Being here unfortunately I must say I have to get used to the underwhelming feeling of seeing people underdressed in such setting, perhaps a dress code to be imposed especially for special occasions. Overall nice experience good start to what has been luckily a great night
