The Beehive Coffeehouse Dessertery

This is the first coffee shop I know of in Pittsburgh, and it’s truly the best! Rùstëd Róòt even performed here when it was still called 'The Four J's.' The walls are adorned with local art, featuring both framed pieces and captivating murals that create an inviting atmosphere. It's a gem on the South Side, offering a vibrant space where you can relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, and soak in the lively energy around you.

This is a unique and slightly rough-around-the-edges coffee shop. Naturally, the coffee is excellent. It stays open late and offers a variety of food options, including ice cream, pastries, and even serves alcohol in the evenings. Pittsburgh boasts many fantastic and distinctive coffee shops, each with its own character, and this one is among the oldest.

While I may not be able to match some of the incredible reviews out there, I just want to say that this is a fantastic place. I enjoyed it immensely when I lived in Pittsburgh in the 90s, and my feelings haven't changed—I still love it today.

Great service, great atmosphere, great view, great coffee, and great food

Visiting from Wisconsin we decided to pop into Beehive on a rainy night. Not only did we find a great cup of coffee, but the atmosphere brought back memories of days gone by. A quirky spot for a cup of Joe with great service and great conversation..
