Max's Allegheny Tavern - Pittsburgh

A great local spot in the Deutschtown section on the northside of Pittsburg. A great selection of authentic German cuisine. Friendly service, home style atmosphere and reasonable prices make Max's the place for a great time.

Delightful! The food was wonderful (I had Max's sausage platter and my Dad had the pastrami sandwich), especially the bread basket. The waitstaff was very nice, efficient, and professional. It's nice to visit a restaurant where you can tell the staff has worked there for a while.

In the middle of America there is German food almost similar to Germany even better. Nice selection of beers. Inexpensive.

Our waitress Jean was friendly,funny and pleasant. Enjoy her and our time at the tavern. We were on a bike trip from Ontario

Nicole was our waitress. She was knowledge and very helpful in choosing our selections. She offered advice at times. She made sure our dinner was perfect.
