G's On Liberty - Pittsburgh

My wife and I dined at G 's tonight for the first time. I must admit that my expectations were high based upon prior reviews and the history of the owner. Although the service was very good and everyone, including G , was gracious and appreciative ofour choosing to dine there .. I am all about the FOOD! I had the French Onion soup, which was delicious! We both had the shortribs with mac and cheese. Although the flavors were good, the short ribs could have been braised a little longer and theCabernet reduction was a little salty. The mac and cheese made with farfalle pasta seemed a little cheesey and the sauceneeded to be a little more dense. We finished with a lemon tart which was also good. Not that I won 't go back, by any means....however, I feel that G 's needs to kick it up a notch in the Pittsburgh restaurant environment.

The short ribs are amazing! The pork belly tacos are delicious. Great wine list. Very nice dining room. The separate bar area is awesome. My only complaint is that the lighting in the bar area is too bright. It felt like spotlights were shiningon me. I will definitely give G's another try, and hopefully the bar lighting won't be as bright.

A lovely restaurant! My husband and I had dinner here, and we were amazed by how flavorful and fresh everything tasted. We had the tacos for an appetizer (delicious). I had the ribs and he had the surf and turf. Both were great!! They were also veryaccommodating to my celiacs and modified the menu to make what I wanted gluten free.

Solid Mojito, good tacos. A little pricey but great happy hour specials. Worth an apps and drinks stop. Friendly staff and very clean and comfortable temperature in the bar.

We went here for the monthly wine tasting event, where they pair three wines with three appetizers, and then we ordered more food afterwards. Overall, it was extremely enjoyable. Enjoyable. The food was very well prepared, delicious, and varied (a mixof meat and vegetarian dishes). The wines weren't bad either ????
