Ricky's Pancake House - Pittsboro

The food was great!!! So much better than any chain breakfast place I'd been to. I would recommend going out of one's way to visit this place. The amount of food you're given is generous for the pricing, and will fill you up. The service was ok, some of the tables weren't too clean even after someone had gone through and cleaned them, and I will say the hot chocolate seemed like it was a packet mix, but other than that it was lovely!Eggs were cooked perfectly and seasoned well!

There is a parking lot just a half block away at the intersection if you need to park off the street. There are eight booths and seven tables in the dining room. The counter seats four. There is one screen visible throughout the dining room. There is an additional dining room in the back with five tables and five booths. I ordered the Philly Beef without the mushrooms and the Potato Salad. The Philly was good. There was a lot of beef in the sandwich which came on a hamburger bun. More cheese would have made it perfect. I didn't care for the potato salad because it was the mustard variety and I'm not a fan of mustard. It was good potato salad and I ate several bites but it just didn't appeal to my palate. Service was great. Speedy and efficient throughout my stay. The restroom was clean and stocked. I used it a second time after my meal and an employee was cleaning it after what I thought was an already clean restroom so kudos for that. He left it smelling nice too.

This wasn't my first visit to this location. But if it was I wouldn't go back. I ordered a veggie skillet and a side of bacon. It was supposed to be various veggies, hash browns and Colby cheese topped with two eggs. There were about a 1/4 cup of overcooked veggie, burned hash brown? No Colby cheese and two overcooked eggs. The toast was barely toasted, more like warm bread. The bacon was overcooked and cold. I realize it was 1:30 pm but since they close at 3pm I really thought it wasn't to late to visit. There was one server who acted like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. No drink refill. Wow what a disappointment.

Ricky's Pancake House is a great spot for breakfast!! The portions are large so come hungry. This is a throwback breakfast and lunch spot. It brings back memories of eating Saturday breakfast at small town diners with my dad and grandpa.
