Been twice for dinner, best food north of the Fraser outside Vancouver.<br/ <br/ Coq au Vin outstanding A nice Paella, Caeser salad. Onion Tart,. Risotto.<br/ Classic cooking, done well : <br/ Reservations recommended as it is consistently busy.<br/ I've been told I have to go in for lunch. liking that idea..<br/ <br/ Stay tuned..
We had a bunch of recommendations for the Firehall Bistro so hubby made a reservation to take me there for our anniversary. When we got there, the place was busy and the waitress informed us someone had stolen our reservation. Really?! Well, turns out there was one table left and we were seated in the far back. This actually turned out well for us because there was a loud party in the front. The food was really good. Hubby ordered mushroom risotto with steak and I ordered a chicken dish. Our overall experience at Firehall Hall Bistro was positive. I understand why someone would steal our reservation there.
The best place for a meal in Pitt/Ridge....if you aren't paying. The food rivals any top restaurant in Vancouver, but the ambience is only upscale Pitt Meadows. The owner and co are very pleasant.
This restaurant is fine dining at reasonable prices. Last time we had the pan-fried calamari with yogurt dill sauce, and our entrees included hand-made ravioli in the most intensely flavoured tomato sauce I've ever had, pork shank that fell off the bone, and crispy chicken and risotto. All three were fantastic. Wines are reasonably priced and the service is excellent. We also tried three desserts including an inspired chocolate trifle dish with fresh berries which is phenomenal. The atmosphere is laid back, classy and private. Worth the trip!
