Contribuiți la feedbackIt is in a very old building in Piraeus with easy access by the metro. Just 5 minutes walk from the metro station at the port. The food is excellent, mostly offering recipes coming from Smyrni. The owner and the staff are very friendly ready to serve. The prices are very reasonable.
My previous marking was 5 because I enjoyed the pizza they make. My newer experience should be a 3 stars at most just because the staff was polite. We ordered sheep meet and chicken skewers with a cretan salad and 2 cokes for a total of 45 euros! The salad was really good but for 8 euros it should be! The sheep meet was like chewing tires, overcooked with a weird taste. The atmosphere is authentic and vintage and the place is very clean.
Unacceptable behavior. Music was so loud you could not hear the guy next to you. We went at 1.30 having reserved a table. Up until 15.00 we were not served anything but bread, not even the first dishes, despite our complaints. Even worse when we decided to leave and requested to talk with the owner of the restaurant, he was hiding in the kitchen saying he was busy cooking and he couldn't listen to our complaints. Once upon a time it was a decent and friendly restaurant, nowadays it's a shadow of the past. Update to owner's response: Whether the second cook left and his reasons is irrelevant to the customer. If you couldn't serve so many people you should inform the colleagues not to take new orders instead of having people with RESERVED table waiting for 1.5hours with only bread, not even starters!! On the contrary we were informed of a 30min delay which obviously was not true!!! Due to your unacceptable attitude and the lame excuses and of the fact that the owner was hiding in the kitchen instead of listening to customers complaints, all the company will place 1 star in all the reviews, everywhere so people know what to expect. Ps. You were personally informed many times that one person was traveling while another person was celebrating. Still you accepted the booking, left us waiting hungry for 1.30h and then made us leave while hiding in the kitchen leaving the rest personel to take the blame!!
The restaurant wasn’t easy to see, but with some help from Google maps we managed to find it, and I’m so glad we did. The restaurant was cozy and cool at the same time. The building has a long and interesting history which was fun to read about on the meny. The staff were friendly, helpful and gave good service. Despite a seven day road trip with lots of varied food, we found dishes we hadn’t tried, like the black pork, shredded buffalo and beef stew. The waiter actually recommended these dishes we were curious about, so we decided to try them, and it was amazing! I especially enjoyed the shredded buffalo and the beef stew. Although the dishes were «saucy», the combination of the flavours mixed well together! I also liked the little details like the red pepper corns that added that little extra to the dishes, and also loved the the fact the bread was homemade and warm when served. We will definitely return if we are ever in Athens again!
This place is a must!! Walking to it feels sketchy and even seeing construction next to it gave it a bad vibe, but the moment you enter you are greeted with outstanding hospitality and I promise it’s safe! We showed up at 9:15pm on a Saturday and were there with just one other couple, by 9:45pm it started getting packed, then at 10pm there was a live band. I highly recommend the musaka is basically like lasagna, except potatoes, cheese, and ground beef. Goes really well with their bread wine. I saw a few people next to us order the gyro platter and I’d say it’s something you could easily split with 2-3 people! You can’t go wrong with this place. Order a couple things and split it amongst everyone. I wish we had something like this back home. We spent 40 euros for 2 entrees, a salad we split, and 2 glasses of wine that were really more like 4 glasses of wine, large portions! Musaka was 10 euros, pasta 12 euros, wine 5 euros each, salad 8 euros. If I’m ever back here I’ll certainly come again for some homemade tasting food
