El Hostal - Pielagos

My partner had calamari for starters he said probably the best he has ever had. I had the pigs cheeks wonderfully tender and tasty. He had the suckling pig which was very tasty. Waiting staff very good. Amazing cheesecake. Very light and served slightly warm with frozen yogurt and raspberry coulis. The garden is beautiful. After our main course we chose to finish our wine sitting in a relaxation area a little away from the tables. With the agreement of the waitress we were left alone until returning to our table to order desert. I didn’t manage to photograph any of the food because it just needed eating!!! Would highly recommend. Felt it was good value for money.

In September we visited the restaurant 6 people during our trip of 1 week to different place. This was the first night and we just randomly got in to this place. It did not look as good as we wanted, but we did not find any better in the area. The service and the food was very good, so I recommend people to go at this restaurant, steak was special good and all of us had good meal.

If the weather is nice, the garden is wonderful. However, this being in Cantabria, luckily, the areas inside are very comfortable. Service is very professional and friendly (Aurora, one of the waitresses, treats you like royalty! . Food is fantastic. There tends to be many additional items off menu . which you are offered verbally, with the price included (not normal for Spain . Everything I have eaten in this restaurant is wonderful, have never been let down. All the marinated vegetables/fish/game are amazing (not an easy dish to fulfill , their fish is market fresh and the rice dishes are sublime. I was trying to keep it a little bit secret, but Tripadvisor asked me for my opinion...please go, but let me have my table in the garden during the summer months!!!

Personal amabilísimo y profesional que nos invitó a disfrutar de una experiencia maravillosa. El servicio es excelente en un lugar maravilloso y acogedor. La calidad de la comida espectacular acorde con los precios. Nos encantó el tartar de vaca, las rabas hace tiempo que no encontraba unas tan buenas, las croquetas son de otro nivel y como crítica constructiva nos encantó el carpaccio pero sí que hubiera preferido que la carne estuviera más atemperada. Volveremos sin duda. Les auguro mucho éxito en este nuevo emplazamiento.

Una de los mejores sitios que conozco cerca de Santander, excelente por ambiente, trato y comida, las carnes espectaculares. Y si tenéis la suerte de estar en un reservado, hay pocos sitios mejores.
