Amici Trattoria - Pickering

My husband and I have been here a few times before and have absolutely loved the food. The food was phenomenal as always.Yesterday, we were served by Nikita and she was so knowledgeable, kind, optimistic, and easy to talk to. You can tell she really does enjoy her job. She made our dining in experience that much more amazing! Both my husband and I work in the restaurant business, so we have firsthand experience with how a restaurant works. It would be unjust if I didn't write about how she went above and beyond. Definitely will come back again for more delicious pasta and pizza and requesting Nikita.

This is a tough review as I can't rate each component. Calamari seemed to be slightly overcooked, we were not a fan of the creamy dill (doesn't seem to fit the Italian theme)The Palini PLT was delicious, chicken breast grilled to perfection, moist and everything was well seasoned. The soup was red snapper with saffron, I can honestly say I could have this every single day. Nice chunks of red snapper, potatoes and other root vegetables, broth was silky smooth and so flavorful. Great job to the chef who created this soup. 10 stars just for the soup.Butternut squash ravioli was also ordered, presentation was very nice, unfortunately an unknown substance was found which appeared to be a hair. Staff was very apologetic and owner was informed. We had few options presented to us and another dish was made and the ravioli was removed from the bill and we were treated to a tiramisu to go.Excellent customer service.

We went to Amici, located in Pickering, for a lunchtime dine-in experience. The ambiance of the place was quite pleasant. I opted for a Pepsi as my beverage of choice, and our meal started with the Calamari Alla Garglia appetizer. However, I found the calamari to be overcooked and somewhat rubbery in texture, and the accompanying dip was not a good combination. For the main course, we ordered the Panino PLT, which came with a soup that was red snapper with saffron that was highly recommended by the staff and was alao a favorite at the table.My initial intention for visiting this restaurant was to savor their Butternut Squash Ravioli, and it certainly began on a positive note. The flavors of the ravioli were a true delight, and I thoroughly enjoyed the blend of ingredients.Regrettably, my dining experience took a downturn when I discovered a hair entangled in the grilled chicken partway through my meal. The waitress was incredibly apologetic and promptly offered to have the dish remade. I chose to have the replacement meal packed to go, as I didn't feel like dining alone at the table.In a commendable act, the waitress not only removed the Butternut Squash Ravioli dish from the bill but also included a serving of Tiramisu as a gesture of apology. Upon returning home, however, I couldn't shake the feeling that I received the same leftover meal in the takeout packaging, as the portion size appeared to match what remained on my plate at the restaurant.Given this unfortunate incident, I find it challenging to give this restaurant a good rating. The episode left me feeling quite disgusted, and as a result, I couldn't bring myself to enjoy the remainder of the meal I brought home.

We have been here several times and we haven’t been disappointed! Kelly is a great server, so try and sit in her section! Pizza’s are delicious, pastas are amazing, and the warm bread before hand is yummy, especially when dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar! Wine selection is big and has wines from various regions. When you’re done, don’t forget to order a tiramisu and a speciality coffee for dessert!

5 stars def. not enough! HIDDEN GEM! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.It was my first time here and my friends as well.The moment we entered the restaurant, everyone was so friendly! And oh boy the food was AMAZING!We all ordered different dishes and WOW!This is now my favourite Italian restaurant!Personally this beats any Italian Restaurant I’ve eaten in Downtown Toronto!Will absolutely be back!!!!
