We arrived before they were properly open in the evening, but were told we could come in and sit down anyway. We got the impression it was a father/daughter team. The father didn 't speak English, but the daughter did (her English was much better than she said it was). She was very attentive and helpful, explaining the different dishes to us (the menu was only in Italian). I explained that I was gluten-intolerant (I carry restaurant cards from a celiac website, in the local language, which makes it easier for them). That was no problem at all. They even had gluten free bread (something I didn 't find in many places). The starters were very generous, easily enough to feed two! I had prosciutto pecorino, which was well presented, fresh and tasty. I forget what my husband ordered, but I had the pasta with gorgonzola sauce. I asked how big the portions were.... she said just a normal size . Hmm.... that turned out to be a normal size to feed 2-3 people! But, it tasted so heavenly good that I couldn 't stop eating it!! We had spent much of the day driving through heavy rainstorms, so were feeling cold, tired and miserable when we arrived. This restaurant washed away all of that! By the time we left, we felt warm, happy and had big smiles on our faces. Well worth a visit.
Having passed this restaurant many times, we decided to give it a go and whilst the food was acceptable, it was nothing special and not particularly good value. It was one of those meals that acts as fuel because you need to eat, but overall it could have been so much better. Its difficult to put my finger on exactly what was missing but the place lacked atmosphere and I got the feeling they weren 't interested in us at all. Some of the dishes could have been hotter, which is ironic since I believe the name of the restaurant is dialect for 'hot plates '. Letharic service and barely a salutation as we left...
The best quality, best quantities, good service. Very well priced too. The variaton of the antipasti alone can make you satisfied. The scrambled eggs with peppers are highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit next time.
Sono stato ieri sera con dei colleghi, ambiente accogliente, pulito e ben tenuto. Partiamo dall'antipasto abbondante e di qualità affettati, formaggi, bruschette la mitica pependun e ove, verdure gratinate ecc ecc. Siamo poi passati a fantastici arrosticini fatti a mano sia di carne che di fegato spettacolari. Poi anche una bella porchetta cotta bene e croccante. Insomma ve lo consiglio vivamente per chi vuole mangiare bene ed in abbondanza.
