Antica Trattoria San Giovanni

We parked our car just before the bridge that leads into the old town of Piana degli Albanesi and on our left we saw a trattoria of which we had never heard before. We walked into the courtyard and sat under a ceiling of grapevine, welcomed by a very kind couple. The food was one enjoyable surprise after another tasty innovative well prepared and well presented and the final surprise was a very very reasonable bill way below what we expected. This is the kind of restaurant and of people that make your day brighter when you are wandering around on vacation!

We stumbled upon this place and found the staff to be so friendly and helpful. We used smartphones to translate and all had good laughs. The food was excellent and the service attentive. Please visit if you are in Sicily.

Wow! The food is amazing, very authentic and flavorful! Romantic location in a small town with very hospitable staff. So kind! This is some of the best cooking we’ve had on our trip! 10/10!!
