Nelson's Meat Fish Phoenix

A wonderful boutique fish and meat shop serving some of the freshest seafood in the valley! Kind and friendly staff that take pride in their work and offer newcomers to seafood some recipes for the variety of fish and other sea life inside their counter. On top of all that, they also offer a large variety of tasty to-go eating options from poke banh mi sandwiches (my personal favorite, and if I was getting put to death tonight would absolutely be my last meal), lobster rolls, and fresh shucked oysters by the dozen. I’ve been coming here for the better part of a year, and I can assure you that there’ll always be an “NMF-1” charge somewhere on my bank statements as they’ve created a customer for life!

First visit, on a Wednesday, and the special was the Lobstah Roll. And who turns down the chance of having a fantastic lobster roll? Oh man, I could have eaten 20 of them. Soooo incredibly fresh and tasty. I also sample their salmon Poke. I'm now obsessed with wanting more. If I lived in Phoenix, these guys would have a new super fan, because it is just that good!!

My wife and I were visiting our daughter and family in Phoenix over an extended Thanksgiving holiday, and one day they brought home the freshest and meatiest lobster rolls I 've ever had better than freshly caught lobster in one of our favorite vacation spots, Bah Har bur, Me. My daughter also brought home gi normous U 5 diver scallops and octopus, which like the lobster are flown in from Maine (They even identify the fisherman who caught them). Everything we had was super fresh and super tasty. We live on the Atlantic, and have great access to fresh seafood. Honestly, none has been as good as the imported fish at Nelson 's. One tip: Nelson 's offers these decadent lobster rolls as lunch specials on Wednesdays. Get there early. The wait line starts early and runs long , and when they run out, they 're out until the next shipment is flown in. Never ever would have imagined finding this quality of fresh seafood in a landlocked city like Phoenix. I 'm definitely envious

I went to the restaurant with my parents after hearing great things about their fish. We arrived a bit later than opening time, so there wasn’t a lot left, but what was available looked fantastic. I decided to try some salmon poke. It had been ages since I had raw salmon because I usually found it too chewy or too fishy for my taste. Since I do enjoy fish, I thought, "This looks so appealing; I’ll give it a shot. Maybe I just happened to have some bad experiences when I was younger." I’m so glad I took the chance! The salmon was absolutely amazing—rich, buttery, and fresh, melting in my mouth. I can't wait to try other fish dishes from this place that I was previously hesitant about.
