Contribuiți la feedbackIf you're looking for the ultimate traditional ricotta cannoli, look no further than Termini Bros. Bakery in South Philadelphia. Established in 1921 by Giuseppe and Gaetano Termini, this bakery has become synonymous with Italian pastries. Their cannolis are perhaps the most iconic of all, freshly baked and hand-piped to perfection. Despite nearly a century of history and several new locations, Termini has maintained its charm and remains a beloved destination for both locals and visitors. The flagship spot is marked by a charming red and green neon sign, located on 8th Street. Inside, the spacious, rectangular layout features polished pressed tin ceilings adorned with bright fixtures, while black and white tiled floors are topped with slip mats. The whitewashed walls are decorated with antique ornaments, family photos, Philadelphia memorabilia, and seasonal decorations, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. Customers navigate through the beautifully displayed bakery items, which range from cookies and pastries to elaborately decorated cakes. The centerpiece of the bakery is a stainless steel island lined with countless empty cannoli shells, ready to be filled. I visited just before closing on a weekday, and the bakery was still bustling with customers. I ordered a traditional ricotta cannoli and a chocolate cannoli, and though the staff seemed a bit indifferent, they quickly piped my order fresh. Both cannolis were quite large, featuring perfectly crispy shells with a generous dusting of powdered sugar. The ricotta filling was decadently rich, reminiscent of the finest gelato. While I would suggest a bit more chocolate added to the chocolate cannoli, the classic ricotta version stole the show as the best I've ever tasted. The chocolate-filled option, on the other hand, tasted somewhat neutral and may appeal to those who are not fans of ricotta. At $6 each, both cannolis were worth every penny, and I was in and out of the bakery within just a few minutes. The traditional ricotta cannolis from Termini are undoubtedly one of the finest desserts available, making the trip to South Philly well worthwhile.
The cakes here are not just amazing; the service is outstanding as well! Jackie and her team ensure that your cake arrives in perfect condition and are extremely accommodating. I sent my son's birthday cake every year while he was at UPenn, and given the challenges of delivering to various student housing, their service was impeccable every time. If I could, I would rate Termini more than 5 stars!
The Zeppole, Sfogliatelle, and Cannoli were absolutely delicious. I ordered a box of cookies for the hour-and-a-half ride home, and they were fantastic. I only wish I had bought more! I adore this place; every time I visit my daughter in Philly, I have to stop by to get at least one cannoli.
Love the mood of termini, feels like I was transported back in history! not many places with this vibe. the ricotta cannolis are amazinggg! I recently got the cream filling, it was okay not my taste, but the ricotta is amazing! also cookies and cakes from there are so good!
