Standard Tap - Philadelphia

I would give this restaurant 5 stars in every category. It is both a lively tap house and a romantic spot, thanks to their clever policy. The downstairs area with the bar is open seating and quite loud, but upstairs is reserved for those with reservations. When we visited on a warm Thursday evening in June, most diners were outside on the deck, leaving the quiet and softly lit interior almost empty for us to enjoy. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner with delicious food that left us perfectly satisfied, with just enough room for dessert. The atmosphere was enhanced by a mellow old-time jazz soundtrack that we really appreciated. Even though we have many great dining options in West Philadelphia, we are willing to make the trek across town for the historic charm and great food at Standard Tap. It was definitely worth it!

I had higher expectations after seeing this restaurant featured on the Food Network. The menu was intriguing and they had a great selection of beers. I would suggest it to any beer enthusiast.
