Spread Bake Shop - Philadelphia

I ordered chocolate chip bagels after the 16th store said they don 't have them after they sent me a text saying my order is ready. I successfully picked them up and returned home, but then I noticed that all three bagels had blue spots on them. I immediately sent a message via the Spread Bagelry website. A customer service representative called me and said, We don 't believe it 's mold. He asked me to send a photo of the bagels to the same number. I sent a photo, and Ididn 't get a response for over an hour. When I finally called him back, he agreed that the photo showed mold on the bagels. He indicated that the money for this second purchase $6.00) would be refunded the next day, along with the refundfor my first purchase at the 16th store. But until I wrote to them 2 weeks later, they never sent me a refund. After I wrote to the company, they said it wasn 't a mold and gave me my money back. Just awful management.

Pleasantly surprised! Stopped in by chance when I was craving a bagel one morning (we?d moved from NJ and had yet to find a good bagel! These were just crisp enough but still warm and soft in the inside! Also enjoyed the veggie cream cheese :

Great bagels, some staff is super friendly others just unmotivated; long wait times on weekends but worth it

Delicious bagels and bagel sandwiches. You can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches but I recommend getting something with cream cheese. The cream cheese is the best texture and taste I’ve ever had (including fresh NYC and Montreal bagels). Took two containers and a half dozen for home and they travel well—I recommend steaming them first then toasting as they can get a bit hard. The picture I took is from three days later. There’s a decent amount of tables at this location but make sure to come before 11:30 as it fills up fast. Coffee is also really good, don’t miss out on the orange blossom latte.

The bagels are delicious but more importantly the people that work here are the sweetest people ever. they're the reason why i want to come back to philadelphia!!!
