Nobody eating inside!!! Food was awful!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even there drinks were nasty old from two years ago!!!!!!!
Quiet spot with delicious pho and broken rice plates. We love Pho Washington for the great food and for the friendly family service ? it's our go-to place for pho in Philly.
For the past week, our family has been searching for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant who serves Pho noodle soup for adults and shrimp fried rice for kids. If they don’t have fried rice, Vietnamese hoagie would be our kids second choice. We have tried 2 different restaurants in the past week. First restaurant served all kinds of food including pho noodle soup, fried rice and hoagie. I didn’t like the pho because the broth tasted sweet. The second restaurant only served pho noodle soup and hoagie but, no fried rice. The broth for the pho soup is also sweet. Additionally, we have tried 2 other Vietnamese restaurants in our area in the past with one closed its door during the pandemic and the other one we’re just not wild about. Both of those restaurants that we’ve tried in the past also served all kinds of food, pho noodle soup, fried rice and hoagie. After read some positive reviews regarding the Vietnamese restaurants around Washington avenue in philadelphia, we decided to take a long drive (around 40 minutes) on a rainy day to the area and hoping to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant to enjoy some authentic Vietnamese food. So, without any delay, we picked up our kindergartener from school and started our trip to Washington ave in philadelphia. We finally arrived at the shopping center with lots of Vietnamese stores including restaurants, bakery, supermarkets, etc. We were all excited for the trip. After we parked the car, we looked around and saw two Vietnamese restaurants. We decided to give the restaurant named “Pho Washington” a try. After we walked in, we saw many empty tables with one waitress that works there who’s wearing flip flops. There was one other customer. We told the waitress, dinning for 5. Since we picked up our kindergartener directly from school and after a 40 minutes ride, our 3 and 5 year olds want to use the bathroom. So, we took them to the bathroom to potty and got their hands washed. After we came out of the bathroom, my husband went in to wash his hands. Finally, we sat down and looked at the menu. We noticed the menu only serves pho noodle soup, no fried rice or hoagie. We asked the waitress if they can make fried rice for the kids and she said no. She said Vietnamese restaurants don’t serve fried rice. If we want fried rice, we can go to a Chinese restaurant. Very interesting…Told her my kids don’t eat noodle soup and there’s nothing on the menu for them to eat. Unfortunately, we have to go somewhere else. The waitress said since all 5 of us used the bathroom, we have to pay $5/each for using the bathroom which means we have to pay total of $25 for using the bathroom. The most ridiculous thing we’ve ever heard in our lives. So, I said ok, we’ll order a Thai bubble tea, she said they don’t serve bubble tea at the moment. She started yelling loud and said we should read the paper on the door before enter their restaurant and apparently the note on the door that stated about $5/per person for using the restroom? We said we normally don’t pay attention to all the paper that are taped to a door before enter a restaurant. The waitress said we didn’t even look at the menu before going to the bathroom. We said we just picked up our kindergartener from school and it’s been a long drive, so they have to use the bathroom. Anyways, she started accusing us of being rude which in reality she’s the one that’s unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Even the one customer that’s dinning in the restaurant agreed with us and said she would walk out of the restaurant if it’s her. I know this review is long but, I want to share my unpleasant experience with those who are considering dinning at the Pho Washington restaurant. Ultimately, it’s up to you if you want to give it try but, don’t be surprised if your experience is also an unpleasant one. BTW, I would give this place a negative 1000 starts if possible.UPDATE: How funny and pathetic the owner replied and said per their surveillance, my family is clearly going their restaurant to use their bathroom and that we “DEMANDED FRIED RICE” lmao.
Need to add more variety in their rice plate offerings. Other than that, food and service are A+!
