Auberge Du Vimont - Peyzac-Le-Moustier

On a friend's strong recommendation we came for Sunday lunch. What a find! The restaurant is situated in a beautiful tranquil setting. We were greeted at the door by the friendly owner who gave exceptional service throughout. The dining area is warm and inviting and the food...WOW! We were offered an amuse bouche of parmesan biscuits followed by creamy Jerusalem artichoke purée... delicious! Our party of four went on to have starters of super fresh cuttlefish, beautifully prepared with horseradish and celeriac, Potato and onion soup with local cured ham which was full of flavour. Mains included beef and monkfish beautifully served with seasonal vegetables and incredible sauces. Desert: local cheese board and an out-of-this-world Paris brest with praline cream. The owner told us that all ingredients are sourced locally and served as fresh as possible. The proof is in the taste! As such, the menu is updated weekly. The wine list was extensive with several organic choices. All four of us agreed it was one of the best meals we have ever had in France and will definitely return in haste

Very good address this hostel. a warm welcome from the boss. creative, quality cuisine with fresh and regional products. see the products of the garden such as the mooring seeds (discovered bevelty) we enjoyed. We'll get back to sleep on the spot.
