The Oil Rig - Petrolia

We enjoyed dinner in the Oil Rig after theatre. The staff took great care of us. The pan fried fish was delicious. There were few diners......not sure why. The theatre was full.....should have been lots of people dining out on a summer Wednesday evening. They missed a treat by not trying the Oil Rig.

There were 8 of us for lunch on October 25th ; It was my first time there and was quite impressed with the service and food ; nice atmosphere too !!! Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals . The soup was really nice and not over seasoned with salt unlike some places . I had a lovely turkey wrap with a cranberry mayo : really tasty ! I don't understand all of those negative reviews I read , because I would love to go back with my Husband and try it for dinner .

I always order the pan fried Pickerel and have never been disappointed! The service has always been friendly and we never feel rushed through our meal. We look forward to the next great meal outing in a restaurant that reflects our oil heritage in décor. Thanks to the great cook, my nephew, Chef Justin Swartz! The coffee is always hot and our cups always refreshed!The Oil Rig hosted my daughters baby shower in December 2015 in their large room and they were flexible to our menu requests with Chicken Caesar Wraps, Ham and Cheese Wraps, fresh chopped vegetables, fresh fruit trays and a non alcoholic punch. We were allowed to set up in lots of time and at no time did we feel anything but respected and listened to. Thank you to all staff at the Oil Rig for our making of only good memories!

The oil rig is a Petrolia staple, we eat there several times a month. The staff is friendly, and the food is good. They have a Sunday brunch buffet that has good food no matter what your taste. Having tried their burgers, wraps, and pasta entrées I can say that their dinner menu is not lacking in those particular departments. And I can't imagine the rest of the menu not tasting just as good! All in all its a good place to eat!

This was by far the worst place we have ever eaten! Service was absolutely terrible and took about half hour to take our order and get our food. Our server seemed to be too busy talking with other customers and holding babies. We read other reviews once we ordered our food and were so turned off by the picture of the worm. The fries were barely cooked and the sandwiches complimented them well by being just as terrible. If you find any roadkill on the streets of Petrolia I would highly recommend eating it rather than eat at this junk hole. Terrible, terrible, terrible!
