Contribuiți la feedbackStep into this cosy, funky little pub next door to the Caisse Populaire, and you will be enchanted from the start. Delicious smells waft from the open concept kitchen, lights glow, and low, round tables with tub chairs are spread around the small, and intimate interior. Chef Pascal, SO helpful and skillful, takes time to prepare his meals, So don't come here if you are in a hurry! Relax and have a pot of tea (GREAT selection). Don't worry if you don't like sushi; there are house specialties such as stir fry, brochette and awesome salads. My shrimp salad plate was a work of art-SO visually appealing, and scrumptious. All menu items are very reasonably priced and I think the establishment will soon be licensed. Only open a year, the constant stream of customers coming to pick up their take-out orders, is a testament to the fine food served here. Kai Sushi Pub is a wonderful, local eatery that will surprise you in do many ways. The signage outside is not the best, but INSIDE, is a different story.
The food at this restaurant is delicious and the service is good. However, please note that this establishment is not wheelchair or stroller accessible and does not provide high chairs for children. It may not be the best choice for families with young children.
I highly recommend the burgers, they are especially delicious. The sushi options are also great.
The sushi burger was just great! sushi is freshly prepared. is served by the chef - sushi kai- himself. all very familiar. great background music.
I've travelled all over Atlantic Canada with my job and love of sushi. This bar and lounge is a work in progress but the food is divine. The young Chef moved here from Montreal after many years in the sushi business there and overseas. His reasoning is that he wanted to be closer to the ocean for fresh ingredients. He used a mackerel broth for his miso soup the first time I went and I would give it 4 stars. He pays attention to details and make beautiful plates with his creations. The price is more then reasonable for what you get. The only reason I'm not giving him 5 Owls is because the last two times I went he used lobster broth and although it was delicious, it lacked the smokiness that the mackerel broth had; and I felt he was playing it safe for the locals. His Dragon Sushi is a must try along is broth, this restaurant lounge is ideal for new and experienced sushi eaters. I always visit with my dad, who despise sushi yet enjoys this restaurant, when I visit him here; and recommend others to stop by if they are in the mood for a complex and rich tasting experience.
