Gardens and Fields - Peterborough

This review is not comparable to other 4 star reviews, the 4 star is because this is the only place close to the airport, it actually is on the airfield

The front staff is still great. Very friendly. Kitchen staff has changed ...the food is still good... as before just different in a subtle way. We go 5 days a week for breakfast.

Good fast fresh service with hot food and well prepared. love some of their ideas like home made raisen bread french toast with rum soaked strawberries, just loved it... one negative, we fly in, 3 times in the last year and it is very difficult to get a refill on your coffee, usually have to go up with my cup.....and the coffee is tasty but **** slow coming

We were here for lunch. The restaurant was very busy, we had our name put on a list and waited just outside until we were called in. The table we were given had just been cleaned off, but the chairs had been wiped as well and were very wet. The server was very impatient and rather snappish when I mentioned that it would have been nice to have been warned about the wet chairs *before* I sat down! Lunch ordered was soup of the day, (vegetable), and fish and chips. The soup was better described as a creamy tomato soup. The chips were from frozen, and were not cooked enough and rather soggy. The fish was tasteless. The coleslaw was boring. The servers were rushing about and were very inattentive, and I overheard them complaining. It was not a comfortable dining experience. We will not be back.

I've had the pleasure of eating breakfast & lunch at Gardens and Fields. Thoroughly enjoy each visit and am the first to recommend to visitors to Peterborough. So far, I've tried a sumptuous meatloaf plate, mouth-watering burger & fries, and hearty fish & chips, and a satisfying breakfast of bacon and eggs. Be warned, these folks do not skimp on portions! My experience with staff has been A++. Fun banter and a story. Keep up the excellent job!
