Turtle Bay - Peterborough

This restaurant is amazing! The atmosphere is great and the staff is very nice. It's a good place to visit and the passion fruit cocktail is fantastic.

Arranging a lunch for a group of 16 fussy over 60s is never easy, but this proved to be a very popular choice and was also easy to organise. I was able to circulate the menu and pre order the main courses on the restaurant website (by name) avoiding the usual Who ordered the...? while everyone is talking when the food arrives. The server also recorded orders for drinks by name to match the food orders. This made billing to each payer much easier afterwards. The server Jeff liaised with me beforehand and handled our rabble effortlessly. The friendly team included Tia (bar) and Staisha (chef). The food was a tasty fusion of British, American and pure Caribbean and everyone enjoyed their lunch. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. Some of the crowd who had not previously been there were considering the Caribbean as a future holiday destination. I didn 't think our staid bunch would be interested in the 2 for 1 cocktails at lunchtime how wrong I was! (Great cocktails folks). The staff were lovely too. Every one of us enjoyed the experience and we can recommend this excellent venue with an original and broad menu.

We visited Turtle Bay in Peterborough tonight for a special occasion and it was a complete disappointment from start to finish. When we arrived we were told to head to the bar, we were stood there for 10 mins and no one looked at us to serve us. When our table was ready, we were given two circle tables for 6 completely anti social and hard to talk. This was smoothed over by a bottle of Prosecco thank you. When our starters came, 2 were forgotten about and you could clearly see the chef having an issue with the fact he hadn’t made two of our starters….so half of us had finished our starters before others had theirs. When mains came, we asked for knife and forks, they took so long to come our meals were cold at this stage it was pointless sending them back to be reheated. The above made worse by the fact we were sat right in a busy walk way, right next to the restaurant door that was kept open 90% of the time we were in there. Not only this, but one main came wrong and the Mac and cheese had zero sauce and was ultimately just cooked pasta. A glass of water and a portion of chips as a side for the main was also forgotten. The other (warm) food was great, and cocktails too. When we had the bill delivered, there was a service charge that we took off but I don’t think this even justified the poor experience we had. We are never the type of people to complain, but our experience was more than bad. Won’t be returning.

I went to a bottomless brunch with my friends and had a great time. The service was excellent, and our server was attentive. We tried a variety of cocktails, and they were all delicious. The atmosphere was lively, and the food was presented nicely and of good quality. I personally found my breakfast to be too spicy for my liking, but that's just my preference and not a reflection on the restaurant. In the end, I ended up drinking more cocktails instead. Overall, it was great value for money.
