The Paper Mills Inn - Peterborough

We highly recommend The Paper Mills in Wandsworth for their roast dinners. We have visited three times with groups of varying sizes and each time the staff has been friendly and accommodating. The food is consistently delicious, especially the meat which is amazing. I now always choose to pay extra for both the belly pork and beef because I can't decide between the two. We wouldn't recommend a place that couldn't deliver, so a big thumbs up from us! The restaurant has a cozy, country atmosphere with fantastic food.

This restaurant is amazing with consistently great service. We made the mistake of trying a different venue, The Cuckoo at Alwalton, with our friends, and the service was absolutely terrible. We regretted not sticking with The Paper Mills for Sunday lunch. We will definitely be going back there next time. Apologies for going elsewhere this time.

We went to this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday because we were looking for a place that served food later in the day. The bar and gardens are dog-friendly, and they warmly welcomed us and our large labradoodle, even bringing over some dog biscuits (after asking for permission). They offer a good selection of pub food, and the chips were freshly made and deliciously crispy. The men in our group had burgers, while I opted for the catch of the day, which was a seabass fillet on crushed potatoes with shredded cabbage, samphire, and a lobster sauce. The dish was well-balanced, the fish was cooked perfectly, and it was beautifully presented. It was a delicious meal. After dining, you can head over the bridge on the same road and find a Riverside footpath just 100 yards away, perfect for a post-meal dog walk!

Having visited a few time over the past year or so, it appears to have gone “down hill” . We didn’t eat on this occasion, instead having a couple of beers in the garden. The garden/patio area clearly has not had any attention in weeks. Weeds growing through the paving, dog ends here and there. Empty sauce sachets laying around , over flowing ash trays, and a motorcycle parked in among the covered area. Drain rods and traffic cones dotted around the place. Why??? This used to be a good place , and probably still is . Attention to detail!!

Lovely experience , great atmosphere, highly recommended and the food was excellent. I recommend you book in advance it’s really busy . A nice touch was the member of staff coming to the door and thanking us for our visit.
