The reviews were quite poor, but when we entered, we were greeted by a nice older gentleman behind the bar, and when we sat, we were immediately greeted by our waitress who took the beverage orders. The atmosphere is a dipable, but the tables were clean as well as the cutlery and the service was courteous, fast and friendly. I ordered egg sausages and land potatoes, my wife ordered the breakfast Burrito with one side of Hash Browns and my daughter ordered the pancake and bacon. All were perfectly cooked. Everything came hot and fresh. We were so excited about this experience that we will make it a ritual when we return home from the coast. Can't say enough good things about this little hole in the wall, even the bathrooms were clean. Can't wait to go back.
We had a great lunch in a friendly place. The food was solid and the drinks were strong:
We stopped here on our trip. A fun historical bar with good cold drinks. The food looked good, but we didn't order.
Love it! I had the zeasarsalate with shrimps and had really not expected it to be so good:
You can 't find anything more uniquely California gold rush than the Washoe House, a California landmark turned into one of the best restaurants in Northern California. Epitomized by its rustic charm (and the thousands of dollar bills signed and tacked to its ceiling in the main room), the 'Shoe ' is nothing fancy. Just lots of good food, pleasant wait staff, and a great selection of beers and just about any cocktail you want.
