Contribuiți la feedbackThe atmosphere is pleasant and the food is good. However, I think it's a bit overhyped. In my four visits, I haven't really discovered anything that stands out as exceptional. While I do enjoy the experience and would definitely return, I believe there are better and less expensive pizza options available. The food is enjoyable, the interior is nice, there’s plenty of parking, and the staff is consistently excellent. Their dough is very well made!
I drove an hour to visit this restaurant based on its reputation and my previous experiences. I ordered garlic nuggets, which arrived at the table so hard I had to peel them apart to eat. I also ordered two large pizzas, stuffed shrimp pasta, and chicken Parmesan. The two pasta dishes included salads, but the salad was disappointing—brown, wilted lettuce, a piece of an old tomato, and a cucumber that was so dried out it resembled a jalapeño. The two pizzas, a deep dish sausage and a deep dish chicken and tomato, were good, but the pasta fell flat. If you decide to try this place, I would recommend sticking to the pizza. Good luck getting napkins or finding a server who seems to care. I won't be coming back.
The service was excellent, and the pizza was delicious. I gave it four stars because there was no toilet paper or paper towels in the bathroom. However, I brought this to the waitress's attention, and she addressed it right away.
Really disappointed. We love trying local places when traveling and this was a let down. Received our order 40 minutes late (1 hr 40 mins total) and it was as cold and burned. Single mom in a hotel with two kids and a disaster of a dinner at 9pm? my kidstook one bite and were still chewing it 10 minutes later. We ended up snagging yogurt and cereal from the hotel breakfast roombecause after spending almost $40 on this I didn?t have many options. It seems like it might be good pizza right out of the ovenbut if this is normal for their delivery I would not recommend.
Lou's LaGrotto is an institution. It's been in business for longer than I've been alive and when you eat there it is obvious why. Italian food is the fare. Pizza is the obvious choice. I ordered a Hawaiian I know, I know pineapple doesn't go on pizza)thin crust. The dough along with most of the bread seems to be made in house. The crust was thin and crisp with a great flavor. The toppings were what you would expect. The grated parm on the table was clearly grated in house. The day I went, I showed upwith 25 people, I'm sure they weren't too excited but they accommodated us and served us in a timely manner. Great food, greatservice, good prices. If you're in the area, stop in and get a piece.
