We ordered from the brunch menu at 2:15pm. I considered the waffles with bacon and maple syrup. But hey, breakfast is not constricted by time. Settled on the grilled chicken burger with salad, slaw and chips. Chicken was well seasoned and well cooked. The chips were excellent. As nice as my dish was, I needn't have ordered it. Why? Because DoubleKickChick ordered the Mexican Irishman. Or the Irish Mexican. Whatever. It was narchoss. Beef. Taco style. Onions tomato and guac. It was fresh af Hahahahhahaha. Fresh. AF. Oh and they've got booths. Love a good booth. It was a **** good Irish joint. Really likes it and I'll put in effort to return. Lo
The Cure is a typical looking Irish bar with great food.Portion size is huge, I ordered the Taco Chips, they were so tasty and I wish I could have finished them. Ms. D ordered the Chicken Curry, an equally big dish. The curry sauce was to die for and Ms. D left full and content. We were two happy ladies leaving.
Called in with daughter for a very early dinner before heading home. Daughter had Chicken Parma and I had the Seafood Chowder.Parma was well presented and apparently was nice. Seafood Chowder was to die for and I will be going back for that alone! It was the best I have had since holidaying in San Francisco and was a huge serving. I have never had so many decent sized prawns in any dish that I have ordered in a restaurant. Compliments on the chowder hands down.
Decent pub food. We visited the Tavern on a Wednesday night. It wasn't very busy to start off with, but people kept coming in as the night progressed. They had a good special on dinner pint for $15. You could choose any meal from the menu, plus a pint of beer or a glass of house wine. We chose to order some Traditional Irish Stew and Fish Chips, accompanied by a glass of red and white wine. Portion size was just right not excessive, but enough to fill the stomach. The stew tasted ok, but it wasn't overly special. It contained chunks of lamb, potatos, turnips, onions and carrots. The bread that came out with it was inedible clumpy and wet, it didn't seem to be baked properly. Fish chips came with a salad, peas, tartar souce and hand cut chips. The fish was grilled just right, chips were chunky and crispy and the salad was nicely dressed. Peas made for an interesting addition.
Never full. I love the place, but its just never busy. if you enjoy sitting in an empty pub and having a pint for $6 then this is the place for you. I have been more than a few times (for lunch and dinner and the place seems to repeal people but I like it enough to keep coming back . staff are very friendly the place has a chilled vibes and Irish tunes in the background once in a while. the food is ok , its of a pub grade and their restaurant is not exactly fine dinning. out of 10 I would give it a 5 for great staff and having happy hour 2 times a day in the city :
