Contribuiți la feedbackI have been to Brisbane Hotel previously but put off due to overcrowding. It's not pleasurable at all when you are shoulder to shoulder and can't even make it to the bar. Luckily on this occasion, I visited on an early Friday arvo this time and although busy, there was lots of room to move around and could easily get a drink. The outdoor settings are great here and we managed a table in the beer garden. They also had decent prices on some of their beers. I enjoy Blasta craft beers and was happy to see them on offer for $11 a pint. We didn't eat on this occasion but still enjoyed the visit. The place was starting to definitely fill up around 6pm so we made our way out. It's a good spot during mid week or before the busy weekend periods.
The Brisbane Hotel has been a firm favourite of ours for the last decade, we have enjoyed many a lazy afternoon in the beautiful beer garden enjoying a leisurely lunch, with top service, food and wine. How disappointing our last few visits have been since the venue changed hands, with our visit yesterday being the final straw. We will not be going back. Gone is the friendly and personal table service, you now struggle to spot a wait person in the beer garden, and when you do the service is lack lustre and impersonal. No one checks how your meal is, and no one is around when you leave. The food has become very mediocre, made worse by the fact that it is expensive. My wife had the whiting fish and chips, sold under the “Larger” plates section, and it arrived with 4 miserable bite size pieces of fish, an average serve of average fries, and a boring salad. I ordered the gluten free margarita pizza with prosciutto, which arrived on a store bought base with tough packet prosciutto on top, and over baked with burnt edges, for a whopping $27! All in all it was a very disappointing experience, and we both agreed that this long time favourite of ours was no longer worth coming back to. So sad when this venue has so much potential.
Used to be a great place for Sunday lunch not anymore! Asked for a table under the trees when the booking was made. Was given a table on the outside of the Alfresco area which was in the sun as the afternoon progressed. Opted to go inside to eat. Staff was excellent and very helpful and obliging. The food, however, was less than average pub food and in fact was almost inedible. How difficult it is to make a good pizza. We ordered 2 pizzas as there was nothing else on the menu worthy of eating. Both pizzas were substandard. Wish we had stayed home and had cheese and bikkies instead.
This visit was supposed to be for a comedy show with pre dinner drinks and a meal before the show. We queued at the door for a while and eventually got in to an absolutely packed hotel and couldn't even get to the bar. We decided to leave and return later for the show. Since we couldn't get to order food or drink here I can only comment on the upstairs show. The comedy consisted of mostly local acts and wasnt too bad. It was still busy when we returned after having dinner and drinks elsewhere but managed to get one drink from the bar. The upstairs is an older part of the building and interesting. Since we really didn't get to enjoy anything else, I can't comment further. The Northbridge Hotel up the road is available for meals and drinks if you find yourselves in this situation.
Met friends for a meal followed by comedy night. I ordered fish and chips thinking you can’t go wrong it’s an easy meal. I was wrong the fish was in small chunks, barely cooked and the batter soggy, chips were ok but again soggy. Worst meal I’ve eaten in Perth.
