Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a classic, well-managed Thai restaurant with a breathtaking view of the water. If the weather is nice, definitely opt to sit outside. The prices are reasonable, and they did an excellent job with one of my favorite dishes, goat curry. I had no idea how much Australians appreciated their Asian cuisine until I visited down under.
In no particular order, I found the decor to be a huge letdown—so much space wasted; there was zero ambience; the service was polite but disorganized; and the food was just mediocre at best. As for the price, let’s just say you’d have to be quite gullible to think it offered good value. To break it down: we ordered one serving of golden bags (also known as money bags), one Pad Thai, one fish curry, a standard glass of wine, and an Asahi beer. The total: an outrageous eighty-five dollars. That’s more than forty dollars per person for very average “Anglicized” food, which included four tiny money bags the size of a 50-cent coin, a fish curry made with cheap imported fish fillets, rubbery imported squid, and loaded with broccoli, cauliflower, and bok choy. Definitely not authentic. The Pad Thai cost nearly thirty dollars and had about three dollars worth of ingredients in it. On top of that, the polite yet ineffective service required us to chase down our drinks order. When we asked about the specials, we were met with a blank stare—English didn’t seem to be well understood or spoken. The decor and utensils were cheap and unimpressive. While the location might be pleasant during the day thanks to the ocean view, at night you see nothing, yet you're expected to pay the same. Looking at other reviews, I don’t see how my experience matches theirs, which seem to be outdated. Maybe there’s been a change in ownership? I’m giving it one star for the courtesy of the staff and one for the portion sizes—because I guess I’m feeling a bit generous.
Amazingly delicious Authentic Thai food. Use's very fresh ingredients, with lots of Chilli if you are having a hot dish, so be aware. My personal favourite dish here is the Chilli Fish, it's so delicious. But I have tried a lot of the Vegetarian Dishes and the Seafood Dishes here and they are all equally tasty. The prices are good too, especially for the quality of the food. I know many people that are regulars here and it does get quite busy at times. The staff are sweet and know a lot about the dishes, but not all of them are too great at speaking/understanding English. If you like Thai food, you need to check this place out.
Oh my goodness, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Thai Palace may not be the cheapest Thai restaurant in Perth, but it's certainly not the most expensive either. The food is incredibly delicious and definitely worth trying. I shared five dishes with a group of five, and I wouldn't describe any of them as particularly spicy. I was hoping for a bit more heat with the Honey Chilli Chicken, but while the food wasn't hot, it was packed with flavor. Plus, the view of the sunset and beach outside was simply spectacular. Inside, the restaurant is beautifully decorated with traditional Thai statues and motifs, creating a lovely ambiance. The dining area is spacious, so you won't feel cramped at all. Thai Palace is definitely worth a visit and has become my second favorite Thai restaurant.
My family and I approached our dinner here with low expectations due to the mixed reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. While the food is definitely overpriced (you’re paying for the location and view), all of our dishes were still quite tasty. It may not be the best Thai food I've ever had, but it's far from the worst. I don’t think it deserves so many negative reviews. Overall, it was good enough!
