Matsuri Japanese - Perth

Large portion sizes, staff were friendly and food was tasty. Friend said that the teriyaki chicken in the matsuri bento box set was too dry though. The only thing that irked me was that they charged $0.50 for extra wasabi

Sumo sized lunch box! Quick work lunch was the first time I had visited Matsuri and given its proximity to the office and my love of Japanese food, this is amazing. Quick and efficient service and a wide ranging menu means it is a great spot in a busy day. The lunch bento special ($28) was huge and came crammed with miso, teriyaki, tempura, pickled veg, salad and rice. The other offerings were equally sizeable. While it wasn't the absolute best I have ever had, especially the tempura which was a bit thick and rubbery, it was perfectly adequate for the price range. Would head back for similar (maybe avoiding the tempura anything), but no rush.

What happened to Matsuri? It used to be very good, authentic Japanese food. It now tastes like Chinese food. Have they changed owner? Service is still good though.

Friendly waitstaff, nice setting but I find the food a little overprice. Had the salmon caviar don. Not much salmon but way too much rice.

Great food and generous for the price. Sure, the lighting is bad and the atmosphere is dead... but the meal is rock solid and the staff genuinely nice.
