Bright modern decor, without losing its Japanese identity. Excellent on the designer. The staff are very attentive and efficient. They also come with smiles too. The ramen is simply excellent, rivaling those authetic ones found in Japan. However, their other food is just average. Just that it is a little pricey, but given its central location in CBD Perth and excellent garden view, one can understand the extra charges for real estate.
Kizuki started out in Japan as Kukai and expended to the continental US, Taiwan, and is now in Perth. It's probably found in places I have not mentioned.Ramen is a good winter food, with its rich broth, tasty noodles and a variety of toppings. When well-made it is an absolute cracker. I've had several versions in Japan from simple corner shops to much popular and crowded restaurants. On a cold but occasionally sunny day, we took a 15 minute train ride and a short walk later from Perth Underground found ourselves in a light and airy restaurant (one wall was glassand steel). You order using an iPad affixed to a wall. It can take a bit of getting used to but it's not hard and the staff helpful. You picks your type of noodle, broth, or dipping sauce, extras and additions from a list. Some choices are free and others cost a extra. You get a choice of spiciness (pick the middle, it's reasonably safe) and there is an option of less salty version.Typically, a bowl will cost about AUD17, a little more or a little less depending on preference. Now you can get ramen for about AUD12-14 at other places in Perth. But I think the broth here is superior. Plus the surroundings and ambience in an upscale building add to the cost. But it's worth the experience. My ramen was as delicious and was my wife's dipping noodle. The noodle texture was just right, the Japanese version of al dente, and the broth rich and flavourfull. My pork was nicely cooked and tasty and I loved the hard boiled egg with the runny centre. The dipping sauce was very good too but a tad too strong to drink on its own.It was definitely a notch above the ramen restaurant I went to in Perth a couple of years back.A few more hace opened since then and I'm planning on trying them too.
What a great place to find in Perth CBD. Authentic ramen and other delights. Serious eating for those who enjoy Japanese at its best. Staff Friendly and helpfully. Great place to eat for quick snack or large gathering. Will definitely be back to this gem in the city.
In typical Japanese efficiency you enter and order/pay at a self service checkout before being seated. The food came out fast. The chicken salad was amazing and the service was excellent. Great little venue
