The best Chinese food and sushi restaurant in the area. It never lets you down. The people are awesome and the food is amazing

Just tried The Orient in Perry Hall and it was fantastic! I had not been in since they reopened and the atmosphere is nice and comfortable. We started with the Crab Rangoon and both agreed it was as good as any we've had. The Szechwan Lo Mein with Shrimp...chicken...and beef was really great....I always loved New Han Dynastys Lo Mein but since they never reopened their restaurant to the public had not been back there. The Orients lo mein is right there with them. The California Roll was fresh and tasty. Looking forward to enjoying another local restaurant often. The prices were very reasonable too.

Sushi is always on point. Main courses can be hit or miss, but even on a miss still better than almost all other Chinese/Japanese places.

Restaurant and table were clean. Service was prompt, polite, and attentive, bordering on overly attentive. I was the only diner in the restaurant, so they weren't busy and as a result, the server stood there watching my every move. Empty a plate, swooped right in to take it off the table. Take a few sips of water, in with the pitcher to refill the glass. It was a bit much. Sushi chef was busy cleaning up the entire time, hope no one else goes in looking for sushi! Ordered the crab rangoons and seafood fried rice without squid and eggs. Special order was handled accurately and without hesitation or complaint. Unfortunately, the dish had no flavor other than that of smoke from oil that over heated. The crab rangoons are triangle shaped, not the hard to eat purse shape. They were a bit greasy and could use more filling. Overall just an ok experience. Probably will try someplace else before coming back here. Update: went back for lunch on a Saturday. Place was almost empty. Not sure how they stay in business. Servers were once again very polite and a tad over attentive. Seafood rangoons were good, not greasy this time with ample filling. Steamed dumplings were huge and cooked well. Maryland roll was the only thing that wasn't great. Real crab on top had a lot of shells and tasted frozen. Also instead of being long, the roll was very wide, made it hard to eat. Probably wouldn't get it again
