Busy afternoon doing yard work so we walked down for dinner. Our first visit. Surprised to be the only customers left (but it was an hour before closing). Wonderful ambience anyway overlooking the river, with gentle music and a cosy feeling in the restaurant! Really enjoyed my barramundi (fresh, succulent, simple and filling) and my friend his salt and pepper squid washed down with a decent glass of Shiraz. Will definitely be back for breakfast or lunch some time.

My experience at Freshwaters was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the fish and chips along with the fried chicken burger. The chips were cold and stale, and the fish bizarrely tasted and had a texture more like chicken. To make matters worse, the burger was drowned in an excessive amount of sour unpleasant tasting sauce. The chicken in the burger was thin, dry and left a horrible aftertaste. On a slightly positive note, the coffee I ordered was pleasant enough. What truly dampened my experience, however, was when I attempted to provide feedback to a waiter or possibly the manager on duty. Instead of a receptive response, he became defensive and seemed more interested in engaging in an argument rather than offering a simple apology. I didn't ask for any special treatment; I just wanted to pass on my feedback to the chefs. This lack of receptiveness to customer feedback left a more sour taste in my mouth than the food. Overall, it was a truly disappointing visit, and I hope they take customer feedback more seriously in the future.
