Food and service are 'heavenly. ' Friendly, mellow place; good place to take friends to lunch. And the diet coke just seems to 'appear. '
This place is a Peoria classic. So many stories held here. And contrary to what some people may say.. It is NOT just 'drunk ' food. They have some fantastic cooks and wait staff. Everything is freshmade there. And if you are a ranch lover..forgeta bout it! Best ranch around. I 've even heard people from New York that have moved to Peoria say that Hoops pizza is 'doing it right '. Not to mention most days they usually run great deals on food and drinks.
Before today, we?d enjoyed the service and especially the pizza. The bartender lady was not in the mood to answer questions for what would have been a pick up order. She said she was not going to argue w me after I?d asked what were the ingredients in achef salad vs a house salad.(no argument in that) and she disconnected from the call. Once I arrived I ordered a mediumpepperoni pizza and a salad-from the same lady?she never explained the difference in salads; didn?t want to list the dressingsavailable, tossed the menu at me, walked behind me to wait other tables, walked behind the bar to serve beer to other patronsand while I stood there w my cc in hand she ignored me. The gentleman sitting beside where I stood stated she must be having abad day. It was that obvious how ignorant she was behaving. I sat at the table across from the bar w my cc in hand and then laidit on the table and she didn?t acknowledge me. After thinking about the unwarranted disrespect and rude behavior, I politelyleft. If this is what you want representing what I understand is a staple in Peoria, I highly recommend training this one to becognizant of customer service and work life balance. Otherwise this is unacceptable.
Review Date: September 22nd, 2015 3 points for delicious pizza. Out of bounds for late night zaniness. Hoops. Hoops is quite the odd place. It?s on Main Street in Peoria, so it?s easily accessible. They are open until 5:30am. They serve many types ofliquor, beer and varieties of pizza. They have available space upstairs. The pizza itself is super delicious. Lots of positivesand now, the negatives. Do not come here after the sun goes down. Stuff gets weird. I?ve been here many times since turning 21(back in 2008). There are cops always parked next to the building since there is always something going wrong in the generalarea at night. The clientele goes from business/normal people during the day to the odd ones at night. This one time, a bunchof my friends and I were there and this lady stops by our table and is convinced my friend is her nephew. So she offers to buyus food and drinks and just continues to increase her creep level. Getting really close and touchy-feely. Creeped us all out tono end. We booked it to Richard?s as soon as she went to the bathroom. She makes an appearance in the slideshow below, if youare curious about her. I just don?t know what it is about that location that does a 180 after the sun goes down. It?s a great?by the slice? pizza place though. So if you go, make sure it?s for lunch or an early dinner. Unless you want a free show ofsomething always getting weird.
