Giordano's - Peoria

I've got to say, my disappointment is an understatement. I've always told my family that whenever we visit Giordano's, we should be excited, especially because I loved it when I went to the location on the pier in Chicago. Unfortunately, my family's recent visit was a complete disaster. The wait time wasn't terrible, especially considering the small size of the restaurant, which was a positive start to our experience. Once we were seated, it took a few minutes for us to be welcomed and for our drink orders to be taken, which wasn't too bad. During this time, we all commented on how hot it was inside, and our server explained, "Oh yes, our AC is broken; we're currently repairing it." Living in Arizona, you'd think it’s essential to know whether the AC is functioning when dining indoors. Unfortunately, even after an hour and a half, it was still uncomfortable. I ended up leaving before my family so I could get our little one home and into bed. While our appetizers were good, the main issues stemmed from a lack of communication regarding the broken AC until we brought it up ourselves. In the middle of an Arizona summer, that was less than ideal. Additionally, it took far too long to place our appetizer and main course orders, and getting drink refills was a frustrating experience. I don’t expect fast food service, but a little communication and timely service for food and drinks would have been greatly appreciated. I truly wish our first experience in Arizona had been better, especially since it was my family's first visit to this location. **Update - June 22:** My original rating from June 20 was one star, but I've now updated it to three stars. After I left, the manager of Giordano's spoke with my friend and family, offering incentives to reconsider their experience. They've communicated well and have been responsive, so I'm open to giving them another chance. **Update - July 21:** My friend and I returned to the restaurant for my birthday dinner while our families watched our kids. This time, we were seated promptly, and there was a noticeable improvement with the AC. Mark, the bartender, took our drink orders and made sure everything came out in a timely manner. Our food was hot and delicious! The pizza was perfect, and my girlfriend loved the chicken nuggets so much that she couldn't resist finishing them after sampling them on our appetizer platter. At the end of our meal, Mark provided us with helpful tips for our next visit, especially regarding deep-dish pizza and taking leftovers home, which is a great option when dining out with a small child who can't always stay at a restaurant for long. Overall, this recent experience was much better and reminded me of my time in Chicago. I want to thank Heidi, Doug, and Mark—we look forward to visiting again soon!

Absolutely delicious dish! I've spent years searching for deep shells of great quality and I've always been impressed. Not only is the food outstanding, but the service is consistently fantastic. During our last couple of visits, our waitress was Coral, who took care of all our needs and was incredibly attentive, bringing a wonderful energy to our dining experience. This has truly become one of my favorite places!

1. Let's visit and enjoy a great experience! My friends recommended this place, claiming it serves the best pizza. We tried the stuffed crust pizza named "Special," and it was fantastic. There’s also a nice variety of beers to choose from.

The first time in this restaurant. Looking for deep food pizza and we found it. The thin crust also tries. We had extra pizza for the day! Fantastic service from Coral. We'll be back when we need another solution!

I'm from Chicago this was totally authentic, however even in Chicago you have to order extra cheese and more extra cheese to get the pie I grew up with! Totally worth it!
