Contribuiți la feedbackI wanted to try this place before. It is attached to the side of a Mexican grocery store, and we discovered it when we searched for Cotija cheese for a recipe that we did a year ago or so. It was unfortunately closed for the month, since the cook back to Mexico for several weeks to visit family. We finally made it again, once again needed Cotija cheese and have empty stomachs, and we really enjoyed what we tried. We started with a tamale and it was huge and was filled with large pieces of pork, not spoiling mysterious meat, and a real amount of masa. It was wrapped in a big banana leaf. We also shared a beef taco and it was simply presented, only with cilantro and onion-so fresh tasting and authentic with a squeeze of lime over the top. Then we ordered two entrees that she ordered the Camarones de Acapulquenos, and I had the Flautas de Pollo. You can only say that this is really Mexican food. Eating here is like eating in your friends childhood home in Central Mexico, and enjoy family recipes distributed for generations! The food is just done right, and is not Tex-Mex or anywhere near. Don't get me wrong, I grew up on Tex-Mex, but it's nice to have a real piece of Mexico here in Pensacola. If you are looking for chips and salsa, with cheese dip, this will not be your place. I think you'll be glad you did. It is clean and well kept, and go next door and look around all the great foods they wear. -B
What a jewel! This very inconceivable place is the real deal: authentic Mexican cuisine at a very reasonable price. The dining area is small, which is good. It is clean and very colorful as you would find in Mexico. The food is fresh and delicious. I was hungry (as usual) and ordered 4 tacos: pollen, Carne Asada, Carnitas and al Pastor. Everyone was full of taste. The two sauces on the table really added depth to the over all tastes of the tacos, with masking them with extreme heat. The server was very pleasant as it handled the entire dining area itself efficiently. This place is far from imagination, but it gets as authentic as it gets. You also have a grocery store next to the dining area, which is a great way to spend time before your meal arrives. They have also taken out as an option.
Fabulous AUTHENTIC!. We've been writing Taco Mex for over a year and why I forgot to write a review I don't know. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC food, this is your place. You can order from the menu, but they also have specials daily and weekends. You have the best MENUDO on the planet, no joke! My man who would try my in other places that we have ordered over the years will only order the menu here! There are too many wonderful things to mention until now we have tried sooo many of them) but you can throw a dart on the menu and wherever it ends you will be satisfied. The best of your food will be experienced by RITA, the only server. She is warm and friendly and will get everything you order, just as you want it and always has a smile on her face. Be careful and visit the ajoining food store. The owners therefore do not speak perfect English to be intimidated and they will help you with all new articles that you experience and how you prepare them.
The restaurant was so clean and the tacos were delicious! My husband and I live in Montgomery and came to the beach for the weekend and stayed here on the way home! This place is so well done, complete class and friendly service. They also impressed us with their ethnic decor! He told us they imported everything from Mexico! we love it and will be back!!
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Everything has quality ingredients and is cooked to perfection. It’s always a good sign when you see Mexicans eating at a Mexican restaurant. Service is always super professional/efficient and we never have to wait long to get our food. They have amazing soups and drinks that frequently change. We always head over after our meal to the grocery store/bakery. My husband is from the Philippines and there’s a lot of similarities in their food so we always end up either buying some sort of bread, candy or frozen treats. My only complaint is I’m not a huge fan of their chips and salsa. Maybe I’m just not used to that style but my husband and I enjoy the more typical chips/salsa served at most Mexican restaurants. But I guess it’s good to try something new every now and then too! Keep up the good work guys, we love the new beautifully decorated building !
