Mad Park Bistro - Pender Harbour

Ondanks dat he een goede kok state is onze ervaring niet goed. we kwamen daar voor de lunch en de dame in de bediening gaf aan dat ze buiten onze bestelling op kwam nemen. na een helped uur te hebben woacht liep ik maar naar inside in de veronderstelling dat ik haar verkeerd begrepen moest hebben (he were maar 3 tafels bezet). na een snauw dat ze toch had gezegd dat ze zou komen duurde het nog 5 minutes voor ze kwam. en weer een rotopmerking dat ze me waarschijnlijker beter in mijn ogen had moeten kijken toen ze zei dat ze de bestelling buiten zou komen opnemen (..). een uur na de bestelling te hebben opgenomen hadden we nog steeds geen eten. de mensen the een helped uur na ons kwamen real wel, the hadden gezegd dat ze haast hadden en the bestelling liet ze dus voor gaan op onze. na een uur went we maar weer even vragen waar het eten bleef. de dame gaf aan dat ik iets had besteld wat lang duurde (ik had de dagelijkse special besteld). huh? zet dat dan niet in as dagelijkse special. uiteindelijk kregen we korting omdat we zo ontevreden were maar ik ga he niet meer heen.

To drive by you wouldn't realize what a fantastic restaurant this is. The food was spectacular, our server was so friendly and kind and wonderful, I went with three children one had to custom order because of allergies and they accommodated wonderfully. The food was beyond our expectations by far and what a wonderful surprise it was. Chalkboard for the little ones to draw on and ice cream stand in restaurant for them to pick their desserts. Beautiful woodwork on the inside, we will definitely make it a point to go back next time we are there.

This is such a cute little place - the atmosphere & people make it feel "homey & cozy". I don't agree with another poster who said the decorations were tacky...if they would've asked about some of the decor, they would find out that some of it has a very interesting story behind it. We had breakfast there with our 2 kids, and they were in love with the little red berries that came with their meal; and the nice lady that served them, gave them extra helpings when they ran out. Oh, and my daughter managed to spill jam all over her white sweater. The server saw this, and asked if she could help. So she took it in the back & applied club soda & saved the day! Pretty awesome. And they really made my husbands morning...he's not really into breakfast so he asked if he could have a burger - of course they said! And to top it off they made it a bannock burger! Seriously was the highlight of his trip, lol! Can't wait to return one day :)

We've eaten at this restaurant for lunch and dinner. Both times, the service and food were very good. The server (Lisa) and the cook are very friendly and helpful. The prices for a couple at lunchtime are very reasonable. (eg. half sandwich and seafood chowder for each person = $17 total)Ambience, however, is non-existent. The decorations are tacky. Our table at dinner was situated beside an ice cream serving station. We were told that the staff had been too busy that day to make desserts so our only choice was ice cream. At lunch, we went outside to a very nice looking patio, located beside a rock wall planted with herbs. However, we realized our mistake quickly: the patio is beside a gravel parking lot and every time a car passed, we got a mouthful of dust. Our recommendation: In dry weather, eat indoors and park your car at the far end of the parking lot or it will be covered in dust by the time you leave.

After a hike at Smugglers Cove, our group of four adults stopped into Mad Park Bistro for a casual late lunch. We started with cappuccinos. Then we had three seafood tacos and a dragon bowl for lunch. The food was fresh and tasty. We couldn't resist ice-cream cones for dessert. Great spot with super friendly staff taking care of you!
