Contribuiți la feedbackFollowing trying to visit the Harbwr Tap Room via the back steps this evening, like we had done the evening before we were told by a young , pleasant waitress that it was closed and if we went into the pub formerly Buccaneer) he...man by the till would see to us . On speaking to the man , presume he was the manager we had to endue a lecture from him about using the main entrance of the pub and there were probably people waiting at these doors to be seated before us . There were no notices at the back stairs by The Tap Room to say that they were not to be used . On being seated in the pub it was very unpleasant, overcrowded, and a rude middle-aged waitress who when asked if we could move tables basically said no then totally ignore d us . I was so disappointed to see only member of staff wearing a mask , not even wearing them under their chins , too many tables and social distancing non existant . Also where was the one way system! I never normally write reviews but felt so strongly at what had happened this evening. We left quickly after drink, then went to The Hope and Anchor and what a difference, pleasant staff , relaxed atmosphere and all staff wearing masks . Been in Tenby days and this is the only time i felt vulnerable and unsafe due to lack of covid rule . Poor show . Had a drink in the Harbwr Tap Room the night before , much better .
Called with partner ordered two pints of coke while looked at menu as very limited decided to go elsewhere. Astounded when paid for the coke when disputed staff became very intimidating and threatening paid and left will not darken door again
Booked a table for six plus a baby, here are the positive aspects. The place is very well decorated, the beer is of a very high quality, the staff are generally very welcoming and attentive, the guy on the door especially so. The food was...lovely, good portions and very quickly served, under mins on a Saturday evening was impressive. The few negative aspects of are these, the bar area is a touch crowded, not fun with a pushchair. The waiter took three attempts to sit us at our correct table, causing a bit of an issue moving three children about. The chips were a touch over seasoned.would I return yes but I think it's not ideal with a small child.
We had a nice enough lunch here on Monday....staff were good and the food was fine. The pub was very crowded, not much social distancing going on, and no windows open for air-flow...it felt a bit uncomfortable. The other thing I would mention is dogs....the...sign outside is that dogs are welcomed in their covered outdoor area, but there were a number of dogs inside too. Just as we finished our meal a couple came and sat next to us with two dogs, obviously damp from the beach and emitting far too much doggy smell for me. If this had been before our food I would have had to move as the stink from the pooches made me feel nauseous!
The pint of Wedderspoon in Wimbledon is disappointing. The tuna sandwich or soup burger is overpriced, especially when you can get a cheeseburger at McDonald's for a fraction of the cost. Some pubs charge ridiculous prices for burgers, which is confusing. The large house red wine was decent, but the portion of chips was minimal. The Britvic cranberry was fine. Overall, this place is overpriced for what you get. It feels like a tourist trap, as many places unfortunately are in tourist areas. With some strategic improvements, this place could become memorable with a little extra effort.
