Hometown Pizza - Peebles

I decided to give this restaurant one last chance, but I won’t be returning. The owner, along with her mother and friends, are unable to handle constructive criticism from customers. Instead of offering an apology, they respond with excuses and defensiveness against any negative feedback, while ignoring any praise for their business. Their attitude suggests they believe they’re running a free soup kitchen and that customers should be grateful for whatever they receive, despite the poor quality and service. There is little to no respect or appreciation for customers who spend their hard-earned money to support them.

The food was average at best. I was especially disturbed by an employee who handled trash cans without washing his hands before putting away clean utensils – that's a serious hygiene concern! Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. On top of that, their website claims they close at 10:00 PM, but they were already shut down by 9:00 PM.

I can only give this restaurant one star because there isn't an option for zero stars. We waited an hour and a half, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold and our order was completely incorrect.

I tried to place an order over the phone, but they wouldn't take it. They mentioned they were short-staffed and stopped accepting orders at 7:15 PM. My daughter's soccer team was planning to dine there, so I ended up having to find other food and bring it with me. I'm really disappointed. This is usually one of the best pizza places in town. I think they need to hire more staff or invest in additional ovens to keep up with their growing business.

We waited 45 minutes for our pizza, which we ordered as the hometown special but without green peppers. Instead of omitting the peppers, they added onions, which we didn't want—we only wanted sausage and mushrooms. To make matters worse, when we got home, I discovered a paper clip in one of my slices. A PAPER CLIP! If I hadn't noticed it before taking a bite, I could have choked. This place used to have great service, but that's not the case anymore. I definitely do not recommend it and personally won’t be returning.
