We enjoyed the chef's tasting menu back in October, and it was outstanding. We also tried the short rib pizza, which was to die for. It made for a fantastic birthday celebration, and I would love to return during the day.
Today's visit left me with mixed feelings. While our server was exceptional and the Sauvignon Blanc delightful, the food fell short of expectations. The ambiance was lovely, but the pasta sauce was dry, and the octopus appetizer chewy. Despite the beautiful setting, the food didn't live up to previous experiences. In summary, while the service and wine were highlights, the food left much to be desired.
My husband, Chris, and I returned to Ninety Acres to celebrate our first wedding anniversary! Our wedding festivities took place at The Mansion at Natirar. Ninety Acres is where we held our rehearsal dinner. So it was only fitting that we would revisit this cherished place one year later. Nothing has changed. By that I mean our evening was perfect. Our gratitude to Kristen cannot be overstated. Her meticulous planning and coordination ensured our celebration was nothing short of perfect. As we walked in, Megan's warm welcome paired with a champagne toast set the tone for a magical evening. By the fireplace, our table awaited, a perfect backdrop to relive our most cherished memories. Throughout the night, Gabby anticipated our every need, making us feel like the only couple in the world. The pièce de résistance was a delightful gesture by Lindsay, the pastry chef, who recreated a mini version of our wedding cake. Every dish served was a testament to Ninety Acres' culinary excellence. But beyond the food, it was the heart and soul of the staff that made us feel seen, celebrated, and deeply valued. This wasn't just a dinner; it was a rekindling of memories, making us feel truly special. This place, and the people within, hold a unique place in our hearts.
With the exception of a few dishes, this is straight robbery. Aside from the plating, there was nothing exceptional or inspired about the fare. The only flavor in abundance was SALT if I hadn 't paid so much for the meal, I wouldn 't have forced myself to eat all of practically inedible salty pastas. I hate being so critical when the staff were so friendly and accommodating, the chef even tailored the prix fixe menu for our dietary restrictions, but sadly did not make up for fine dining that pales in comparison to anything I had in Portland. Tuna on Squid Ink Delicious! Burrata on Toasted Bread consistency was too runny for me Lobster Ravioli like gargling with salt water Mushroom Pasta loved the hearty flavor of the mushroom, there was a delightful crunch in between bites, but overall too salty Brussel sprouts roasted to crisps and doused with so much sugary balsamic it could 've been a dessert Both the Salmon and Snapper ? were impeccably cooked. These were actually quite up to the standard I 'd expect of this establishment. Blood Orange Upside Down Cake well made, I 'd definitely go for this again Raspberry Cheese cream danish come on...I could make this at home with parts from the supermarket To their credit, we did leave absolutely STUFFED. A prix fixe menu is very fun and you 'll feel like you got your money 's worth on the experience in that sense. BUT...the lack of flavors and truly delicious food fills me with regret.
My family and I came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. Super nice restaurant with valet parking and coat check. We pretty much ordered the majority of the appetizer menu charcuterie board, octopus, Jersey girl burrata, house made bacon, crispy potatoes). The dishes that stuck out to me were the octopus dish super fresh) and the Jersey girl burrata the cheese was also super fresh). These were also dishes that I felt tasted particularly unique to the restaurant whereas you can really get thick cut bacon or crispy potato at any nice restaurant. For main courses, we ordered a variety as well- duck breast, dry-aged striploin, and squid ink campanelle. The reason why I gave this place 3 stars is because although the food was good overall and the service was impeccable truly 5/5 stars), the food taste to price point ratio was what drove down the rating for me. I didn't walk away with any particular dish sticking out to me or thinking that I would HAVE to come back next time.
