Contribuiți la feedbackStopped in for the first time and I guess you need reservations as we arrived at 1:50 and there was a group with another coming at 2, however, we were still there st 2:15 and no one had shown up. We ended up just buying a bottle not knowing the taste and I bought candles since they were nice. It was a nice venue but not likely to go back since it seems if you don’t have reservations they don’t care about youGo
We were greeted by the owner who was very rude and made us leave because we had more than 6 people. They weren’t busy at all and he said he already turned down two groups of 15 before we got there because they didn’t make a reservation. I understand making reservations if the place is busy, but I guess this place doesn’t like making money. He checked our bags and took pictures of our license plates because we got upset when he turned us away. I’ve never had such a terrible experience at an establishment before. We went to Wyldewood just down the road and they were so friendly and accommodating. We will not go back to Prairie Fire
Prairie Fire is an exceptional winery that is somehow both out of the way and right next to the interstate. Top to bottom all wines are great. Beautiful location too.
We visited the winery located in the scenic Flint Hills of Kansas. All their grapes and wines are grown and locally made. With over 30 handcrafted wines to select from, you are sure to find something your pallet will truly appreciate. We included below some of our favorites from each category.Dry 2017 Chambourcin (Red) Sparking Wine Vidal Blanc Deux (White) Did you know they are the first in Kansas to produce Méthode Champenoise Sparkling Wines? Semi Dry/Semi Sweet Traminette -Semi Dry (White) 2020 Chambourcin Semi (Red) Sweet Purple Grin (Red) Their Sangrias are extra special Wineaux -Rita (wine margarita) is perfect for the summer or anytime and simply delightful! And their Red Blackberry Sangria is bursting with flavor so berry enjoyable! Finally, their seasonal Mulled Wine If you enjoy the taste of fall apple pie, their Mulled White Wine is for you! Or, if you prefer the classic Christmas spices of yesteryear, the Mulled Red Wine is just a perfect complement to any holiday affair! The winery sells locally made products. They grow lavender on the ranch to produce soaps and candles which are available to buy as well. You can choose your favorite libation and purchase by the bottle or glass. They offer a wide array of delectable snacks for purchase to pair your drinking experience with. We surely enjoyed sitting in the all season back patio and spent a delightful time enjoying the wine, food and local ambiance. They are very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and shared their passion with us. We are looking forward to visiting this hidden gem in the spring and enjoying their music venue. Our dogs Skippy Trixie had this to add: Mom and Dad 's wine reservations were for 11:30am. When we arrived, we were met with a Dogs Welcome sign that made us wag our tails with excitement! We were greeted by Brie, a beautiful Doberman girl, who was the perfect hostess and made us feel warm and fuzzy. The owner wore a tee shirt about dogs and wine and we loved the furry feeling we got to know they were happy to have us. Mom and Dad sampled the delish wines and then we made our way to the back patio where we all shared some awesome snacks! Brie even joined us for a tasty treat or two! This place makes for a barking time and we give it a FIVE PAWS UP!
Very disappointed in my experience with this company. My family has had a tradition every year to go to Prairie Fire Winery. This year we were told to leave the property for doing nothing wrong. There was a group of 10 of us that would have spent roughly $1000 on wine and other stuff. We were told that they did not have the capacity or staff for a group this big, although there was several open tables and space for us. Just because you had a bad experience with one group does not mean you should treat every group the same way. If you want a better experience, go down the road to Wyldewood Cellars Tasting Room. We will no longer be doing any business with Bob and his company.
