Wilder Mann - Passau

My husband is really interested in glassmaking and antique glass, and he spent three days going through this incredible collection while we stayed at the hotel that is part of the same building. The collection is perhaps overstuffed and under-curated, but that would only make it more interesting for scholars. The hotel was just fine, with a lovely view of the fortress and the Danube.

My husband and I traveled to Passau in December for the Christkindlemarket. The hotel is on the Danube river and away from the hustle of the market. The room was clean and well maintained, they even offered wash cloths! However, there was a small step between the bathroom and the bedroom. You needed to be fairly awake in order not to trip when visiting the bathroom in the middle of the night. The views from the dining room were beautiful but the food was your standard German breakfast offerings - nothing fantastic. Overall it was a comfortable stay and the desk staff was very welcoming and helpful.

In dem Hotel gibt es doch seit fast 20 Jahren kein Restaurant mehr. In den 90'iger Jahren gab es ein Sterne-Restaurant mit toller Dachterrasse. Uriges, gemütliches Hotel (schönes Glasmuseum im Haus), sehr schön an der Donau (Altstadt, Rathaus) gelegen. Freundliche Mitarbeiter.

Ich wurde sehr freundlich begrüsst und die Dame konnte mir auch alle meine Fragen beantworten.Das von mir gebuchte Einzelzimmer war zweckmässig und historisch eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich zurückversetzt in die Zeit des Kaisers.Es war sauber und ruhig, einzig die Kopfkissen müssten mal erneuert werden. Leider gebe diese gar keinen Halt.Das Frühstück war ok, jedoch der Ausblick war besser als das Essen. Macht halt satt.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I still love it. It's perfectly situated near the river and great restaurants, within a few blocks of St. Stephan's cathedral and its world-famous organ. The rooms are small but clean and very comfortable. The price is reasonable and the breakfast is very abundant. The front-desk staff were helpful and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it, although parking is not very convenient (but that may be true of the entire city).
